How many times do you hear the word unique.: doubtless so often that the word itself is hardly that. So be prepared to be surprised to find a truly individual product: our Victorian style sewing kits are genuinely unique. Each is made by hand from a design which emanated from founder Jackie Phillips’ great grandmother and was passed on to her by her grandmother, Joyce, who was also an accomplished sculptor. The kit has the advantage of being practical and easily transportable and contains everything necessary for hand sewing.
The individuality is complemented by the fact that no two kits are the same. So where the material used on the outside may be the same in two or three different kits the lining is different in each one. All have matching hand made needle cases and pin cushions.
We make three types of kit; The Wickham, The Elite and The Vintage Elite. There is absolutely no difference in the standard of finish. Our Elite range however is made from luxurious material and has hand forged and sharpened, stork scissors in their own leather case, a pewter seam ripper, and a gold plated thimble rather than the purely practical items in the Wickham range. Additionally there is also a set of craft pins.
The Vintage Elite is the top of our range and uses vintage materials, either no longer in production or of designer standard such as Liberty or Sanderson print and William Morris designs.
Apart from the array of ready made kits (see our gallery for current stock) we can also offer a bespoke service offering you the chance to input your choice of materials.
Please note that all the kits are personally made by Jackie and therefore numbers are, of necessity, limited.
